Yolanda van der Merwe was admitted as an attorney in 2010 and founded Van der Merwe Attorneys in the same year. With over a decade of legal experience, she has led the firm with a strong focus on integrity, professionalism, and results-driven service.
In addition to her work in private practice, Yolanda has acted as both a District and Regional Court Magistrate, gaining in-depth knowledge of court processes and judicial decision-making. She recently completed the prestigious Aspirant Judges Programme, further strengthening her legal insight and judicial understanding.
Her extensive courtroom experience and judicial exposure are invaluable assets to the firm and its clients, offering a strategic advantage in litigation and legal matters requiring a clear understanding of how courts approach and interpret the law.

Chantal Horn
Associate
Chantal Horn is an Associate at Van der Merwe Attorneys and the daughter of founding director Yolanda van der Merwe. She obtained her LLB degree from the University of the Free State and was admitted as an attorney in 2020.
Chantal joined the firm in 2021, bringing fresh perspective and dedication to the practice. Her strong academic foundation, combined with her practical approach to problem-solving, enables her to deliver efficient and effective legal solutions. As part of a family-founded firm, she is deeply committed to upholding the values of professionalism, integrity, and client-focused service that Van der Merwe Attorneys is known for.
